You got a feeling that Yamaha is only making the SG for Santana. But, Yamaha made many kinds of guitars besides SG.

Well, like SF/SJ series, these are original design of Yamaha. These guitars had a successful sales in Japan using many famous endorsers.

The SC series was unlucky guitar compare with the said guitars, it did not become popular even in Japan.

But, I have heard that many Japanese studio guitar player used this guitar for their works.

The sound of SC is pretty cool. The alder body and Maple Neck (Rose FB) made a tight sound with long sustain.

The SC was made from 1977 to 1982. The time was just Fusion music era.

The electric circuit of SC is similar with JEFF Beck’s Schecter Stratocaster or Brain May’s Red Special.

3 mini switched (ON-OFF-ON) could provide you 13 kinds of pick-up selections.This SC-700 has a hard tail bridge, it could keep good tune for playing.

The list price of SC-700 is JYE 70,000. It was middle class price guitar.   

We have done the basic cleaning for this guitar. It should be fine for 1977 made guitar. The neck is

Maple 1P type has a bit tiger flame. The truss-rod is still fine, I would say Good conditions of Neck.

The electric circuit is fine too. But we recommend you to change the Mini Switch and output jack to prevent the noise caused by aging.
