| F796621 serial S-900 [GO-III proto type] (1979 Fujigen made) This is very rare early time GO-III guitar. Actually, Greco announce the GO-III series in 1980. This guitar was designed for Mr. Asano (Godiego---Japanese Band--Maybe well-known by song of Monkey Magic in U.K.). He started to use the prototype of this guitar in 1979 on TV. The market is getting excite when Greco starts the mass production at that time (I clearly remember). One of guitar shop store (Shinseido-Rock-INN) asked Greco to produce only 50 units for their 30th anniversary model. Greco had a busiest time on business to start the "SUPER REAL SERIES". They didn't have a time to add GO-III series of officially in 1979. We could guess Greco had accept the request of this guitar shop, because only 50 units limited, and business relation with Shinseido group. The official model code is S-900 because Greco didn't use the GO-III name yet. The specifications are almost like the mass production GO-III later. Neck : 5pc. maple and mahogany laminated though Neck Body : Top and Rear looks like Sen / Center Mahogany PU : Neck/Bridge --- PU-3D Center PU-200 Bridge : T.S. Vibrate Tremolo Gold Tuner : Greco Original Gold Position Mark : Oval Control : 3V 3T with 6 position selector Switch List Price : JYE 90,000.- (With Hard Case) Nut : Brass I got this guitar from the collector several years ago. The condition is very good, almost mint condition. The 1 tuner cover is easy to take off. I consdier to change to Grover, didn't do it yet. Of course, there are several dents and scratches, but these not really bad condition considering the age of this guitar. The neck/electric/bridge are all fine. Of course, I keep the original tremolo bar and Hard Case. The weight is 4.07KG, maybe a bit light than Les Paul. I'm still considering to sell this stock or not. As a guitar, I feel it is so-so guitar. However, this is very historical guitar for Japanese Guitar Industry. Therefore, If JV collector who could be keeping this guitar, I would consider. |
