Specifications (MFG catalog & Actual Check)
Greco BM-900 1977 Fujigen made Red Special Guitar Probably 1977 made Greco (Fujigen era) BM-900. It is getting hard to find out the good condition BM-900 even in Japan. Most of MB-900 were modified by the users. This BM-900, the tuner was changed to Grover, and others are kept as original condition. Greco started the manufacturing of Red Special around 1976. This should be first mass production of Red Special. The construction are not completely same. The biggest difference is body. This BM-900 is solid body instead of original hollow body. Also the Mini-Switches are lever type instead of slide switches. The construction of Tremolo unit is closed to Fender mustang. However, the sales of this series are very good because of Brian May name. After BM-900, Greco continued to make BM-80 and BM-90, these are almost same specifications. Japanese Greco crazy is looking for 70's made BM-900. They said that the quality of wood material is better than later series. Well, this BM-900 is very collectable even in Japan. We have checked electric circuit and it is fine. We rated this guitar as "MINT". The scratches and dents are not visible. The neck is straight and frets are proper condition. The truss rod is adjustable. The nut width is 43.8mm. The electric circuits are fine too. The body material is Maho. The neck should be Maho. The weight is 4.13Kg The original Greco case is including. Well, Try original (almost) condition Greco Red Special Guitar! Please enjoy JV guitar! |
