Fernandes PJ Bass '80 made This bass should be made in 1984 from the serial number. The body color is white (well, like white Pearl) with gold metal parts. When I got it, the parts are too rusted. Therefore, I have changed the following parts. 1) Gold Metal Knob 2) Gold Strap Pin 3) Bridge Plate took from other Fernandes 4) New stainless saddle screws In addition, I have changed some to the new potentiometers (MIJ), Switch craft Out put jack and Capacitor (Orange Drop). Also, I felt the output balance between P type PU and J type PU was not really good. I changed the PU to Lindy Fralin Jazz Bass (from my stock, Brand New). The out put of original Fernandes P PU is pretty bid over 10K Ohm. J type is around 6-7K Ohm, so, it is still not same output even I changed. However, when I added the output of J PU, the sound is changed, it could be used as one of tone. (I like it) The neck is fine. I have adjusted the truss rod. It is still adjustable. The nut width is 41 mm. The frets are proper condition. The body. I'm not sure the material, but it should be Ash. The body paints were cracked many section. I thought the cracks are only paint part. The weight is 4.2Kg. We are going to ship this bass with used Gig Bag. Please try JV Precision Bass! |
