YAMAHA SB-500S MIJ Bass I love Yamaha SB series, specially bolt-on neck type for myself. This model made by Yamaha between 1979-82. Yamaha also started the famous BB series. Both of them were Yamaha original designed. Many Japanese professional players used these series. SB series are 2 pick up type. Maybe, Yamaha put the concept like J-Bass. BB was like P-Bass at the beginning. (One by one, these model changed same series...as BB) The difference between SB-500 and SB-700 is body material. SB-700 is alder body and inlays. SB-500 has Nato body. The hardware is same specification. There are not so many scratches and dents. I must say it looks not really great. It should be the Player condition. Over 30 years old bass. Well, It is good condition as vintage bass. The frets and neck are still O.K. The metal parts are still good ! The sound, pretty much like Jazz Bass. But the neck is like PB. It is pretty thick. My hand is small. But I could play without stress. It can be used for heavy bottom Rock !!! This bass is 30-32 years old bass. The body is dried very much. This is not for sale. Maybe you could find out other SB-500S on my WEB site! |
