Kurosawa Gakki Custom order "Ryujin" Bass
Kurosawa is well known Japanese retail shop. They are also famous as exclusive base distributor of Martin guitar for a long time.
I'm not sure how many shops they are operating now. But their sales is
over 70 million US$ and over 200 employee association.
Well, pretty good size company in the music industries here.
Kurosawa made many private label guitars. Stafford guitar? it is one of
their original brand. They have more brands anyway
First time, I saw Ryujin brand on the book... over 15 years before. They
made aluminum body guitar that time.
A guy at Kurosawa formally worked for Tokai and was in charge of Talbo
sales...
After he joined Kurosawa, he planned Ryujin Guitar. The parts manufacturer
Tokiwa in Nagano was in charged this Aluminum
project, I heard. Tokiwa is still manufacturing the guitar parts. They
are well know as machining of parts.
When I saw this bass, I didn't expect good bass, anyway. But after getting
this, well, this is pretty good tone bass.
The construction is very unique using mane aluminum parts. The long aluminum
parts are installed at center of body.
It starts from the neck pocket to bridge. Well, you could guess this bass
has pretty nice sustain. It is really good.
The active circuit made a good tone selection too. You would love it, no
doubt.
The problem of this bass is too heavy for me (4.7Kg).
Beside this, it is excellent bass, I like. Pretty good condition and smooth
flamed maple neck (width 41.7) with ebony finger board.
I guess the sales price was over 100,000 yen that time.
