Guyatone Late 70's made Precision Bass Guyatone, most of over 50 years old Japanese player knew this brand name as the Amplifier Manufacturer. They are still existing as effector manufacturer. Of course, they are offering the guitars, but these are very limited production. Actually, Guyatone was much popular in 60's as guitar manufacturer like Teisco guitars. These were mostly original designed guitars. In late 70's, Guyatone followed Greco, Fernandes, Tokai or Yamaha, started to produce the Fender/Gibson replica. This is one of them, replica of precision bass. It is very rare bass even in Japan. Since I started to collect, this is first Guyatone bass I got. The condition of this bass is fair. The neck back was repaint. The rose wood line was a bit shrink, then repaired. The neck is straight and truss rod is working. The finger board is maple bonded. The nut width is 39.15mm. It is pretty slim width as precision bass. The body is SEN in 2P (I think 2P). The body weight is 4.01Kg. The back has the paint crack at the 2P bonding point. I think it is not go though the wood yet. Metal hardware are bit rusted. The tuner is work, but 1st strings knobs are bit damaged (it's still workable) Generally good bass. It seems that the PU is not Guyatone. I'm no sure which manufacturer is. But it is very high power output with Hex. pole piece. Well, very rare bass. We will ship this bass with Gig bag Enjoy JV bass! |
