ELK Stratocaster I got this guitar after looking for a long time. Many people are collecting the ELK guitar. As I said before, ELK is one of Bizarre ELK is one of leading brand name in 60-70's. They made many AMP like Fender model. When I was a boy, ELK is one of good AMP, but very expensive tube AMP. Of course, Fender is most expensive and almost impossible to get for the teenage boys. So, many boys are collecting the catalog at shops. I was collecting many and felt ELK guitar is one of favorite in early 70's. After that, the market was occurred by Greco, Fernandes, Tokai and etc... ELK was getting only brand name for AMP. I've heard the factory (Miyuki) is now providing it for Fender Japan AMP. The ELK guitar was very expensive that time. This model is JYE 49,000 over 35 years. I have several ELK guitars (Les Paul and SG). These were special model for professional players. Anyway, this guitar is not really great replica. The Pick up size is not same with Fender original even with Japanese metric size PUs. It is slightly bigger. The sound is much fat than normal single coil PUs. I have changed the out put jack only. The neck(1P + MFB)is straight. Truss rod is still adjustable. Frets are fine too. The body is 2PLY solid body. It is 3-4P. It is not like Strat sound, but I like this old fashion guitar very much. This is absolutely historical guitar. I would say this is real JV guitar !!! |
