Morris Stratcaster This should be very old Morris Stratcaster. As you know, Morris guitar is one of leading guitar manufacturer here. Specially, they are well-know as acoustic guitar manufacturer. Of course, they made the electric guitar. I found out the Morris electric guitar when I was Jr, High school student (well it is over 35 years ago). I saw the Les Paul and Strat model at music shop. This guitar is exactly I saw that time. It is not really good replica. Morris just made similar looks guitar with Fender. The neck is 4P with metal made truss-rod cover. Several Manufacturers made this style Fender replica at the begging. The nut is Gibson style. I don't know why. They maybe made these guitars from the pictures. The body is laminated body. These earlier replica guitars made by laminated wood in many case. Well, so, it is not really good replica guitar. However, it is a good history teller for JV guitar's history, that's why I keep. In early 70's here, Greco, Fernandes, Yamaha and Morris are major guitar brand. If you are collecting the JV guitars, this is one you should collect. Morris is changing the brand name after these earlier made guitars. They use the H.S. Anderson, Bill Lawrence, Bill's brothers and others after Morris brand. Just try Japanese Vintage guitar! Note : The Neck PU output is slightly lower than others. |
