I love Yamaha Guitars. Specially, their original design model are pretty good. Yes, some of them not really good design guitar, but as musical instruments, Yamaha is always great. However, only problem. Yamaha guitar parts are mostly not interchangeable with Gibson, Fender and other major guitar parts size. Therefore, once some parts were broken or missing, the end-user have a headache. Like Yamaha SG ! PU size, PU mount rings, screws, Bridge size, Tailpiece size... Really headache. The, Yamaha stopped the service parts distrbution already. So, anytime, I got a new Yamaha here, started to check all parts are fine or not. Fortunately, this one is just dirty when I got. I reassembled all parts and cleaned it. The body small scratches are bit fixed (need more work and maybe good conditioned) I adjusted the neck to stay straight. Became good to play ! It should be 1976-77 made guitar. A bit influenced by Jeff Beck strat model has the 3 mini toggle switches. I personally do not like these, just complicated. The bar type pick up is good, feel like side range. The bridge is solid type to rear string inser hole. It is good idea, better than Fender hardtail type bridge. Probably it made more bottom and medium tone. The neck grip is a bit fat compare with other Japanese strat model. Good original design Yamaha guitar. |
