ELK Groovy Guitar GR-298
This should be ELK GR-298 guitar.
The Brand logo badge was gone. But we could see it is ELK guitar.
This guitar was made late 60's to ealry 70's.
ELK was a high end guitar that time.
This model LIST price was JYE 29,800.
The average income was annual JYE 635,000. So, it was aboout 1/20 of income.
Current average income is 4,000,000 yen some.
It is not easy to compare but It was about 200,000 nowaday.
I have found the ELK catalog on net. This guitar is slightly different.
So, no idea... This is really ELK guitar or not. But probably same guitar factory made this.
The pickups, Tuning Key, Control cavity are different. But the shape and other specifications are
almost same.
I have done the overhaul. It is very good for playing.
The neck is not fat like others. It looks pretty cute.
The sound like pretty much Telecaster guitar, but a bit warm tone.
