Ibanez AS200 We could see many Japanese made guitar. Except hand crafted guitar, there are sevral famous Semi-Acoustic guitars. Yamaha SA-2000/2200 and Ibenze AS-200 are probably famous mass production model. Yamaha is still producing SA series. Ibanez has been transferred many guitars production in China. They have several guitars which have been produced in Fujigen, Japan. I think they made only high pricing model now. I have both Yamaha SA and Ibanez AS here. I felt the Ibanez has more sharp (Clear) tone compare with Yamaha. Yamaha is more sweet tone. It depends on what kinds of music you are playing. I love both of them, anyway. AS has 3 ply (Maho+Maple+Maho) neck. Maybe this neck construction made a bit sharo tone. I do not have Gibson ES-335 here, so I could not compare, but Gibson ES-335 is Maho neck. Maybe it is warm tone. This guitar is pretty good condition. Maybe early 90's made from serial. Only pickup mount rings were changed (I have the original cream color one). All functions are fine including, electronis, neck, frets and etc... We are going to ship this guitar with hard case (not Ibanez original) to protect the body. |
