Columbia Guitar 60's Matsumoku made I'm not sure about 60's made guitar. After checking this guitar, it was made in 1964-1966, by Matsumoku. Columbia is not guitar manufacturer. As you can see, they are the record manufacturer. However, in 60's, there are not so many music stores specially for the guitars. Mid 60's, The Ventures made a big booming here. Well, Yamaha, Kawai, Teisco, Guyatone and other manufacturers made the electric guitars and got a huge sales. I can remember that the electric shops and record shops offered those guitars. Well, you could imagine why Columbia started their brand. They just thought easy sales. Japanese Victor also offered their brand electric guitar that time. I bought this guitar not really on purpose. I have got several Tesico and Yamaha 60's model. So, L felt just compare this guitar with others. Well, I didn't expect great tone from this guitar. However, this guitar made me very happy. It is good clean tone. If you will play the blues, this guitar absolutely give you a comfortable tone. No idea about the body and neck material. It is not Mahogany and other good quality wood. However, it is quite good. The body weight is only 3.09Kg The nut is 44 mm. I feel the neck is a bit fat. Generally, this guitar is fine. Currently, the tone is not working. PU selector is fine. But the small slector switch is not working (I'm not sure what is it). If you are looking for 60's JV, this is really good guitar. We are going to send this guitar with used gigbag. Enjoy old days JV guitar! |
