| Ornetts GM 6.1TBU (Asahi Mokko - Highend Guitar - Kanda Shokai) Maybe, you knew this brand, if you like MIJ guitar. Asashi Mokko is currently producing the Zemaitis and Greco New series. They used to be producing the Valley Arts and Van Helen EX series, I have heard. It means they are producing all high-end brands at their facilities. Distributor is Kanda Shokai. I've heard that they have major share of Asahi Mokko. (I didn't make sure it, anyway). It is pretty good guitar compare with pricing. It was sold around US$ 1580.00 as list price. However, they stopped the production several years ago. Probably, they are so busy for Zemaitis or other High-end guitars. Currently, Kanda shokai added Greco new series which are much closed to Ornetts guitars. These are not exactly same line, but we could guess these came from Ornetts design. (New Greco series are listed US$ 2,500). Specifications Construction: Solid Scale: 24 3/4" = 628mm Neck: African mahogany, deeper joint than Gibson Fingerboard: Ebony Body top: Hard maple, AAA Flame Maple Laminate top (High pressure /Vacuum Press bonding) Body back: African mahogany Tuner : Gotoh/SD90 magunum-lock with Wilkinson "VSVG" Trem Pickup: Alnico V Custom Bucker Paint: Thin Lacquer Finish This guitar is good condition, but the mount rings and jack plate have been changed. Maybe, the electric circuits were upgraded use high quality material. The neck is O.K., straight and truss rod is working. No serious dent and scratches. Only we could see some dent around the body bottom binding area. This is not JV guitar but pretty good quality! I love this guitar very much, easy playing and good tone. We will deliver this guitar with used gig bag. However, I recommend you to purchase the hard case for this guitar, anyway. |
