YAMAKI Les Paul STD model YLP-450B YAMAKI is a good acoustic manufacturer in 1970-80 time. Their guitars were distributed by Dion (whole Seller). They use the "Joodee" name too. But it should be a later production after Dyna Gakki stopped Joodee. I'm not sure why Dyna stopped it. Well, Dyna is currently Fender Japan supplier. Yamaki made many replica guitars. I mainly collect the Strat type. Anyway, this is Yamaki made Les Paul. I think they transferred the good craftsman ship for this guitar from their acoustic guitars experience. According their old catalog, the body material is maple top and maho back. The neck is Nato (Nyatoh) wood instead of Maho. Nato is similar wood with Maho. But they mostly came from Philippines. The body weight is 4.33Kg, therefore, it is typical weight of Les Paul. The sound is Typical Les Paul too. I like it. I only change the tuner from their original (broken) to Grover brand new tuner. Now, the tune could stay well. The body condition is so-so. I could see small paint crack around the neck joint part. It is not effected for wooden part. The outer paint are generally fine. But please note this is over 30 years old guitar. The head clear paint, it became a bit cream (not transparent). Well, good Les Paul model. If you are looking for the Yamaki solid guitar, this is it! We are going to ship this guitar with 70's made hard case shown on picture. |
