TAKAMINE Electric Guitar GZ series I have heard that Takamine made several electric guitars in 80's and 90's. I have Takamine electric acoustic before. Well, this is first time to see the Takamine solid electric guitar. I have checked the WEB, there are many kinds. I think Takamine mainly exported these for overseas markets. I didn't see any Takamine solid body before. Anyway, the neck is pretty similar grip with their electric acoustic. It is pretty thin neck (nut width is 42.1mm). The neck head has the angle like Gibson Les Paul. So, it is a bit different feel and sound from Stratocaster. I'm not sure about the body material. The top should be laminated (or print flamed). The weight is 3.83Kg. When I get this guitar, the Tremolo bar was broken in the inertia block. So, I took off the original die-casting block, change to metal made block (our original block). So, now, you could use the mufti-function arm with this guitar. I have added the strap pins. Very smooth guitar. the strings action is pretty low. Well, it is pretty good guitar. If I use this guitar myself, I would like to add the Pot switches and make the PUs to Single and Hum by switching. It should be more useful. |
