Morris 70's made SG model
As you may know, Morris is a leading acoustic guitar manufacturer and distributor in Japan.
They currently concentrate the acoustic guitar. Well, they are still offering
the electric model
such as H.S. Anderson, Bill Lawrence and overseas made base...
In 70's Morris offered Morris Brand electric guitars as other guitar manufacturer
here.
At the begging, they offered only bolt on type electric even Gibson replica.
We could see those Morris guitars on WEB site.
However, it is very rare to see the set neck type.
This is first Morris Set neck SG for me. Pretty good condition too.
The neck, frets and electric circuits, all perfect. Only tuner was replaced
with Heerby (vintage) tuner.
I've been checking this guitar very carefully. It seems like ELK SG model
very much.
Maybe, same factory made ??? Probably, they use the parts which they could
get around factory (Matsumoto).
The parts manufacturers offered whoever, I guess.
The set-neck type SG and Les Paul model are very limited to produce. So
I do not have an intention to
sell this guitar. As Gibson replica, this is not good one. But considering
the Japanese guitar history, this guitar
is pretty important.
